The TV by the Numbers television analysis websitereportedthat theDeadman WonderlandandCasshern Sinsanime seriesranked #1 among certain young adult viewership demographics during theAdult Swimchannel’spremiereof the revivedToonamiblock last Saturday.
The firstepisodeofDeadman Wonderland, which was broadcast at 12:30 a.m. on May 26, was #1 in its time period among adults 18-24 (up 14% from the same time last year), men 18-24, and men 18-34 (up 2%). The first episode ofCasshern Sins, which was broadcast at 1:00 a.m. on the 26th, was #1 in its time period among men 18-24 and 18-34.
In response to these numbers,Jason DeMarco, formerToonamiproducer and recently promoted vice president of strategic marketing and promotions forCartoon NetworkandAdult Swim,commented: “It did OKAY. Not bad but not measurably better than the week before. We need to do better. Hopefully we will!”

Yesterday, TV By the Numbers revealed the ratings highlights for the past week. Of particular interest to us, obviously, was the overall reception of Adult Swim’s Toonami revival. In particular, the block saw several titles dominate among a number of age groups.
